City of Hamilton - Central Composting Facility
You got to love the massive scale of a planned central composting facility for the City of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. The facility will process a massive 60 tons of waste per year and should reduce the stress on landfill by 65%.
Pat Parker, manager of solid waste planning, says Hamilton will be one of the largest Ontario urban centres to collect organics citywide. And will be the biggest to have its own indoor composting plant, a $30-million facility being built beside the old Firestone tire plant on Burlington Street East.
